When President-Elect Donald Trump Appeared On WWE Wrestlemania
23 Nov, 2016
President-elect Donald Trump is not new to making cameos in films and popular TV series. The billionaire real estate mogul once appeared on WWE’s main pay-per-view event Wrestle Mania. In its 23rd edition, Trump faced off against WWE chairman Vince McMahon in the “Battle of the Billionaires”.
In this staged rivalry, both signed a contract stipulating the losing party to shave off their hair. Trump picked the then ECW Hardcore Champion Bobby Lashley, while McMahon chose Umaga.
Umaga had the edge over Lashley for most of the contest, with him coming close to winning the match until special referee Stone Cold Steve Austin interrupted the fight. Austin pulled McMahon’s son Shane O’Mac, who was referring the fight, off the stage and attacked him. Umaga, however, repulsed Austin’s attack, but was thrown off guard with Trump making a surprise appearance.
Trump clotheslined McMohan and launched into a vicious attack, throwing punches at the WWE chairman. Austin regained conscious and hit Umaga with his special move: the Stunner. Lashley, sensing opportunity, charged at the staggering Umaga and landed a sphere, wining the fight. Trump and Austin then tied McMahon to a chair in the middle of the ring and tonsured his head.
