People Washed Away As Tidal Bore Surges Through Barrier In China

More than 20 visitors were knocked down and washed away by a strong tidal bore of the Qiantang River on Wednesday afternoon, at the Meinv dam in Hangzhou city, Zhejiang Province. Having ignored the warning, the individuals were standing on the dam and watching the tides when the accident suddenly happened. Fortunately no casualties were caused. 

 

The Qiantang river tide is one of the world’s largest tidal events, attracting visitors from the whole nation.
