Indian Police Constable Beaten Up By Locals For Harassing Woman

A member of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) was beaten up by passengers at Badot train station in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, after he reportedly harassed a woman and then hit her when she protested.
The police constable (or jawan, which translates to 'junior' officer), was operating on a train travelling from Saharanpur to Delhi, with the incident occurring when the train stopped. Those involved were later interviewed at a local police station. No serious injuries were reported.
