As a Development Manager with ML Emporio, Jacqueline Huynh is part of a development and construction company with over 25 years of experience, that builds with purpose, is rooted in community, and is inspired by our city. From a personal standpoint, Huynh’s grandparents immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong in the 60’s. They have always instilled in her the importance of education and being financially independent. Both of her parents are very successful, but they have always encouraged Huynh to carve her own career path and to create something on her own. Ultimately, she has profound comfort knowing that she has earned her career on her own rather than having it handed to her.


Prior to starting her career in real estate development, she was actually accepted into medical school. She has also studied piano and the violin for over 12 years. The multi-talented female powerhouse is a role model to others, making strides of success in the real estate industry. Huynh is excited for the forthcoming year, as it will be another big year for ML Emporio. The company will be launching over 1,500 homes in the City of Surrey and the Township of Langley.

1. Tell us about yourself and your journey into real estate.


Following University, I did my internship with a large Vancouver homebuilder. During my time there, I worked with three different departments from land acquisition to construction to after-home care. After the summer, they hired me full time and since then, I’ve worked on nine hotels across Canada and multiple multi-family projects across the Lower Mainland.

2. What does your company stand for?


Our teams are very tight-knit, and ownership knows everyone on a first-name basis. Without teamwork and open communication with mutual respect for one another, we cannot resolve conflict and move on. When we have a team working together, we produce the results our homeowners expect from us.

3. What can buyers expect when buying from you?

4. What is your advice for someone venturing into real estate?


Keep an open mind, you learn something new if you set aside your pride and listen. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, working on a construction project is like being in a working classroom where you are constantly bouncing ideas off each other and learning from your peers and contractors. Lastly, believe in your skillsets and what you bring to the table.

5. What is your mantra for success?


Study the local market and your competition but most importantly, understand who your buyers are and what they’re looking for. Enhance the neighborhood and create vibrant community homeowners are proud to live in.

6. What are your hobbies?

Besides being outdoors with my French Bulldog, Georges, I enjoy photography and eating out.

7. In your opinion, what is driving the price jumps in the Lower Mainland?


We are fortunate to live in one of the best cities in the world. Having said that, in addition to young people looking to purchase their first home or families looking to downsize, we also have immigrants starting their lives here who need a home. There’s never enough supply to meet the demand. COVID also added to the logistical challenges of moving much-needed construction supplies across the globe which is continually fluctuating construction costs.
