Vancouver Fashion Week 2014 Day 2

21 Mar, 2014
DARPAN Magazine had a great time at Day 2 of Vancouver Fashion Week, which kicked off with Lisa Loveday, a Canadian designer from Ontario. She describes her fall/winter collection as being “acceptance of self, mistakes, imperfections, darkness.” Her online boutique has been featured in the prestigious Hempel Award fashion show and ‘Emerging Trends’ as part of Boston Fashion Week.

Sarah Armstrong featured her collection as an emerging designer from Vancouver. Armstrong has collaborated with filmmaker Jean-Philippe Marquis to showcase elements of her FW14 collection. She creates ready-to-wear pieces with an androgynous touch, adding a unique edge to her collection.

Another amazing designer that featured his work was Evan Clayton, who unveiled his fall/winter collection called Jenova. Clayton considers himself as a visual artist, and views his models as his blank canvas. Clayton embodies the passionate spirit of late Alexander McQueen and continually captivates fashion enthusiasts with his designs.

Thursday night at VFW showcased a wealth of unique collections by passionate designers making the Chinese Cultural Centre the place to be. Other designers included Dawson & Devereaux, Na Hyun Lee, Maella Fashion Boutique, Grandi's Atelier, Connally McDougall, Seul Ji Shin, Firan & Rose, and DES. In addition LaSalle College Vancouver highlighted the collections of its students: Jesper Annerstedt, Yicheng Chen, Rachel Liu and Sonya Jang.
