Women Build Launch by Habitat for Humanity

20 Nov, 2014

Habitat for Humanity held Women Build Launch Reception at the Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver on Tuesday, November 18. The reception was attended by local politicians and influential community leaders.

The goal of the Women Build Program is to mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting homeownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty. Starting with the Women Build Launch on November 18, Women Build will be welcoming 40 women changemakers each day during ten consecutive days of building on a Richmond Build Site. These women will learn new skills, build more homes, make new friends, work alongside Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver Partner Families and change lives forever.

Committed Ambassadors to the program include:

§  Premier Christy Clark

§  The Honourable Linda Reid, Speaker of the House

§  Jill Schnarr – Vice President Community Investment – TELUS
