Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently on the third and last leg of his three-nation tour was accorded a ceremonial welcome in Ottawa on Wednesday. The national anthems of both countries were played before the Canadian army accorded him the guard of honour.
Earlier, PM Modi met Canada's Governor General David Johnston at Rideau Hall in Ottawa. Marking the first standalone bilateral visit in 42 years, Modi arrived in Canada today where the focus will be on setting a "trajectory" in ties through cooperation in energy, including civil nuclear, and attracting trade and technology for India's development.
