Darpan Experiences the New Face of Rado

14 May, 2014
Darpan Magazine was recently invited to a private media preview of Rado’s 2014 watch collection for men and women at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia in downtown Vancouver. We were introduced to Rado’s revolutionary ceramic touch technology, in addition to high-tech ceramic designs.

A pioneer in high-tech materials, Rado has implemented the first uses of high-tech ceramic in its watchmaking. Watchmakers use high-purity zirconium oxide powder for the Rado ceramic watches, and this material is used for other applications, including medical and space technology.

Recognized for its luxury and innovative design, Rado’s Esenza Ceramic Touch collection is no exception. Featuring precious stones in brilliants shades of blue, green and orange, these gorgeous pieces are not only stunning, but boast cases and bracelets made from “lightweight, scratch-resistant and super shiny polished high-tech ceramic.” Trying on the watches, you can’t help but feel feminine as it’s a work of art on your wrist. The plus side, the watches are extremely light, making you forget that you’re even wearing one.

Other favourites included the Rado Esenza Ceramic Touch Jubile 132 Limited Edition – sleek minimalistic design showcasing 132 diamonds across the case and bracelet links set directly into the ceramic; the Rado Hyperchrome Ceramic Touch Dual Timer – featuring the renowned Rado ‘monobloc case construction,’ this is the perfect watch for the man-on-the-go showcasing two time zones; and lastly, we loved the sporty Rado Hyperchrome Court Collection – the automatic movement is powered by the wearer, so this collection is suited to life on the court as you work up a sweat, but it’s dynamic and sleek appearance is still perfect for when you’re done your tough tennis workout.

Rado has a number of brand ambassadors around the world, including Canadian actress Lisa Ray, Bollwood star Hrithik Roshan and Wimbledon champion Andy Murray.
