Rehana Din’s role as Chief Operating Officer at BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo) highlights her exceptional leadership, vision, and cultural influence. As a South Asian woman at the helm of BC Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre, Rehana is transforming Vancouver’s cultural and economic landscape, ensuring the city continues to host world-class events.

 Rehana began with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University, followed by a Chartered Accounting designation at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Her decade-long tenure at PwC gave her invaluable insights into various industries and leadership skills. Her subsequent role as Chief Financial Officer at Gateway Casinos further honed her strategic and financial acumen, preparing her for her current position.

 At PavCo, Rehana emphasizes the importance of teamwork. “Our venues thrive because of the right leadership and dedicated teams. Through our collective effort, we can host major events like the FIFA World Cup, the Invictus Games, and many others,” she explains.

  Rehana’s cultural background and personal values deeply influence her leadership style. Raised by a strong, selfless mother, she embraces kindness and mentorship as core values. “I’ve learned that you can be both kind and tough. Making difficult decisions is part of leadership, but it’s also about ensuring long-term benefits for everyone involved,” she shares.

  A standout moment for Rehana was hosting Diljit Dosanjh’s sold-out concert at BC Place. “Seeing the stadium filled with South Asians celebrating their heritage was incredibly moving. It was a powerful reminder of my roots and the importance of representation. Events like these highlight our commitment to making BC Place a cultural hub that resonates with diverse communities,” she reflects.

  Rehana’s background as a CPA enhances her understanding of the economic impacts of large-scale events. She articulates how these events boost the local economy. “These events are not just about entertainment but economic and community benefits. When people come to Vancouver for these events, they support our entire local ecosystem,” she notes.

  Outside of her professional achievements, Rehana enjoys Vancouver’s vibrant life, from biking around Stanley Park to hobby baking. These activities provide a balance to the demands of her role.

  Inspiring future leaders, Rehana advises aspiring professionals to remain kind, compassionate, and true to their values. “Stay genuine in your relationships, and always uphold your integrity. Success is not just about reaching the top; it’s about lifting others as you climb,” she emphasizes. Rehana Din’s leadership at PavCo not only shapes Vancouver’s event landscape but also inspires individuals from diverse backgrounds to pursue their aspirations with confidence and dedication.
