WATCH: Millions of people tuned into the Olympics and rightly so, as what a celebration it was for Team Canada. The Canadians won gold in women’s soccer on Day 14, after the final against Sweden ended 1-1 and Canada prevailed 3-2 on penalty kicks.
Great players need support and consistency to go places and accomplish their dreams and a great coach is key to making that happen.
Jasmine Mander, one of the 5 coaches with Team Canada shared about her experience about the game in Tokyo with Darpan's social media host Ish Sharma.
“My family is very supportive; they always wanted me to be happy – and that meant playing soccer professionally. My dad has always been by my side, taking me to practices all the way to either the University of British Columbia or Simon Fraser University; and of course my mom, who would love making meals for me when I would come home tired from practice. Without their support, I couldn’t have done it.”
DARPAN had the chance to speak to the first line right winger about his position beside the Sedin twins, his take on a new team and what he brings to the ice every time he laces up his skates.
