This Selfie Stick Makes You Look Less Lonely

Darpan News Desk IANS, 01 May, 2015 12:24 PM
If ordinary selfie sticks do not inspire you, try this one that is shaped like a human hand.

The "Selfie Arm" is a new selfie stick design that adds an arm to your self-portraits, making them look like photos of you taken by someone who loves you.

The prototype was created by artists Justin Crowe and Aric Snee out of lightweight and portable fibreglass, media reports said.

The fibreglass arm lets you appear to hold a friend's hand while you take a selfie.

Fascinated by the idea of technology and its illusionary "connectedness" and "sociableness", Snee and Crowe created the 'selfie arm'.

"It's a solution to a quintessential problem -- nobody wants to look alone while they mindlessly snap pictures of themselves. The product conveniently provides you a welcoming arm," the artists behind the creation noted.

"And better yet, it doesn't talk or have emotions of any sort," they added.

By fashioning the stick to look like an arm, you instantly look less lonely in your photos.

The project is meant to be "a direct commentary on the growing selfie stick phenomenon, and the constant, gnawing need for narcissistic internet validation".

However, the artists have not spoken about plans to bring the selfie-arm to market.
