Are you an app addict? Find out

Darpan News Desk, IANS, 23 Apr, 2014 11:06 AM
Do you open, check and use apps at least 60 times a day? Then you are a mobile phone addict, claims an app analytics firm.

An average user opens apps 10 times a day, said the study by app analytics firm Flurry that found that cases of mobile phone addiction are growing faster among women.

“We have used data from Flurry Analytics to analyse the behaviour of consumers that heavily use their smart phones or tablets, a segment we refer to as the 'Mobile Addict'," a spokesman for Flurry was quoted as saying.

With 123 percent growth between 2013 and 2014, the addicts are the biggest growing group, across all segments of mobile app users, said the firm.

In March 2014, there were 176 million mobile addicts, up from 79 million in March 2013.

"That is astonishing growth in a single year," the firm said.

It also found that addicts are more likely to be women.

“Mobile addicts were 52 percent female and 48 percent male, compared to 48 percent female and 52 percent male for an average mobile users,” the analytics firm said.
