Village Of Lumby, B.C., One Of Two Finalists In Kraft Hockeyville 2016

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 21 Mar, 2016 01:02 PM
LUMBY, B.C. — What the Village of Lumby, B.C., lacks in size it more than makes up for in its enthusiasm for hockey.
The community of roughly 1,700 has reached the final round of this year's annual Kraft Hockeyville competition.

Dave Manson, who heads up parks and rec for the village, says it's mind blowing they've made it so far, but he insists it's because hockey is the heart and soul of the community.

Lumby is facing off against St-Isidore, Que., for top spot.

Online voting runs until 9 p.m. on Monday.

Both finalists are already guaranteed to pocket 100-thousand dollars for arena upgrades, but the one to garner the most votes will also get to host an N-H-L pre-season game this fall.
