Vancouver Whitecaps Re-Sign Veteran Defender Pa-modou Kah To One-year Deal

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 11 Dec, 2015 01:55 PM
VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Whitecaps have re-signed defender Pah-Modou Kah to a one-year contract extension, the Major League Soccer club announced Friday.

The Whitecaps declined their option on the 35-year-old centre back and nine others players earlier this month, but head coach Carl Robinson said at the time he wanted to bring some of his veterans back if the money made sense.

Kah made US$170,000 in 2015, according to the MLS Players Union.

Financial terms of Friday's deal were not released.

"We're very pleased to bring Pa back," Robinson said in a statement. "The experience and mentorship he provides is of great value to our young group of players. He is a natural leader both on and off the field."

Kah started 25 of his 26 appearances, including 10 of Vancouver's league-leading 13 shutouts last season, after two years with the Portland Timbers.
