VICTORIA — A British Columbia minor hockey league is threatening to ban spectators if parents and other observers don't start minding their manners.
The Vancouver Island Amateur Hockey Association says the bad behaviour has gone beyond yelling and abuse during games.
The association's Jim Humphrey says in one recent incident, two fathers tried to accost three teenage referees after they left the ice.
He says the teens, ages 13, 14 and 17, locked themselves in a dressing room.
Humphrey says the angry dads then tried to kick down the door with the teens inside.
The league says it will be forced to hold a spectator-free games if things don't improve.
