Ultimate Warrior dies just a day after 'death' speech on WWE

Darpan News Desk Darpan, 09 Apr, 2014 03:14 PM
James Brian Hellwig better known as the Ultimate Warrior died yesterday in Arizona. According to reports, Warrior collapsed at 5:50 p.m. (PDT) while walking to his car with his wife in Arizona outside of their hotel. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

He had appeared at WrestleMania 30 and Monday Night Raw, just before his death on Tuesday.

"WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior," read a statement from the wrestling entertainment organisation.

"Warrior is survived by his wife Dana and his two daughters," it added.

News spread quickly through social media of Warrior's death. Jake Roberts, a fellow 2014 Hall of Fame inductee and former opponent in the ring, said that the two were able to finally put their past problems behind them.

"Saddened to announce the passing of the Ultimate Warrior. Icon and friend. My sympathy to his wife Dana and his daughters," wrote Triple H on Twitter.

Although Warrior's relationship with WWE was strained at times, more recently WWE has recognized him as one of the legends of the company.
