Sania-Bruno clinch US Open mixed doubles title

    Indian tennis player Sania Mirza, with Brazilian partner Bruno Soares, clinched the US Open mixed doubles title at the Arthur Ashe Stadium here Friday.
     
    The top seeds won the match 6-1, 2-6, 11-9 in exactly an hour against unseeded American-Mexican pair Abigail Spears and Santiago Gonzalez at the Flushing Meadows.
     
    This is Sania's third Grand Slam title. She had also won the mixed doubles titles at the 2009 Australian Open and 2012 French Open with Mahesh Bhupathi.
