Robinho on verge of returning to Santos

Darpan News Desk IANS, 06 Aug, 2014 07:39 AM
Former Brazil football star Robinho is close to returning to his former club Santos on a year-long loan from Italian giants AC Milan.

The Brazilian outfit has reportedly offered the 30-year-old a monthly salary of $220,000 plus bonuses for marketing and image rights, reports Xinhua.

"There has been considerable progress in negotiations, now we just have to finalise details," the winger's lawyer Marisa Alija Ramos told Lancenet.

Robinho guided Santos to the 2002 Brazilian championship with a dazzling debut season as an 18-year-old.

He again played an important role in the club's 2004 league triumph before being sold to Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2005.

The former Brazil international returned on a six-month loan in 2010, guiding the club to the Copa do Brasil title.
