Canada closed in on a quarterfinal berth in men's basketball with a 93-83 comeback win over Australia in Lille. R-J Barrett, who plays for the N-B-A's Toronto Raptors, led Canada with 24 points. Canada can wrap up a final-eight berth as early as today if Germany beats Brazil in today's late game.

Felix Auger-Aliassime (oh-ZHAY' ah-lee-ah-SEEM'), may have worked up a sweat in his second-round tennis match, but it was more likely because of the heat on the clay courts of Roland Garros than the play of his opponent. Montreal's Auger-Aliassime cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Germany's Maximilain Marterer in a match where he reeled off a winning streak of 10 games before his opponent got on the board. Fellow Canadian Leylah Fernandez didn't fare as well, losing to Angelique Kerber of Germany in a women's third-round match.
