  • Kim Ng makes MLB history as the first female General Manager of the Miami Marlins

The Miami Marlins have hired Kim Ng as General Manager, making her the first female and a female of color GM in Major League BaseBall history.

She is the first female and a female of Asian descent GM in North American men's professional sports. Ng brings over 3 decades of experience in MLB to the Marlins, 21 years involve working in front offices of Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers. She has eight post-season appearances, six league championship appearances and three World Series wins as part of her illustrious career. 

“I entered Major League Baseball as an intern and, after decades of determination, it is the honour of my career to lead the Miami Marlins as their next general manager,” Ng said in a statement. “We are building for the long term in South Florida, developing a forward-thinking, collaborative, creative baseball operation made up of incredibly talented and dedicated staff who have, over the last few years, laid a great foundation for success". 

Ng replaces Michael Hill the former GM.
