Indian Cricketer Rishabh Pant Turns 'Babysitter' For Aussie Skipper Tim Paine’s Kids And Wins Social Media

IANS, 01 Jan, 2019 10:16 PM

The war of words during the ongoing India tour of Australia took a cute turn when Indian batsman Rishabh Pant actually turned a ‘babysitter’ for Aussie skipper Tim Paine’s kids, following a banter in the Boxing Day Test that made headlines worldwide.

Paine had joked about recruiting Pant to babysit for his kids during the third Test at Melbourne. The stump mics had picked up the banter, much to the amusement of the fans.

According to a report , Paine was heard saying through the stump mic to Pant: “Big MS (Dhoni) is back in the one-day squad too, we might get him (Pant) down to the Hurricanes… we need a batter. Fancy that, Pantsy? Extend your little Aussie holiday. Beautiful town Hobart too, I’ll get you a nice apartment on the waterfront. (I’ll) have him over for dinner. Can you babysit? I’ll take the wife to the movies one night and you’ll look after the kids.”

But the Indian cricketer delivered and “accepted the challenge”.

Pant was spotted posing with the Australian cricketer’s babies and online users loved the gesture and praised him for his sense of humour.

Paine’s wife, Bonnie, posted a picture of Pant with her children with the caption: “Best babysitter.”

The wicketkeeper-batsman met Paine’s family during a function hosted by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison at his Sydney residence on Tuesday.
