Funeral To Be Held Today For Former Montreal Canadiens Star Dickie Moore

    MONTREAL — A funeral service will be held today for Hockey Hall of Famer Dickie Moore, who died in Montreal on Dec. 19 at the age of 84.
     
    Moore played his first 12 seasons with the Canadiens where he helped win six Stanley Cups, including five in a row in the late 1950s.
     
    He was a gritty left-winger who won two league scoring titles with the Canadiens, where he played on a line with brothers Maurice and Henri Richard.
     
    Moore later became a successful businessman renting construction equipment.
     
    Montrealers and Canadiens alumni alike lined up at a funeral parlour Sunday afternoon to pay their respects during a public visitation.
     
    The funeral is set to begin at noon in a Westmount church.
