The loss of a former West Kelowna Warriors hockey player, Parm Dhaliwal, is being mourned by the BCHL. 

At 23 years old he is no more. According to media reports, Dhaliwal's body was found by cleaning staff in a Hyatt Grand Central Hotel in New York City over the weekend.

A Surrey local, Dhaliwal played his prep hockey with the Okanagan Hockey Academy and Yale Hockey Academy in Abbotsford. He began playing for the Warriors in 2016. Prior to that he was with the Chilliwack Chiefs.

Hed had an impressive play over 3 seasons with a total of 38 goals and 82 assists in 148 games played. He was a point a game player in 2018-19 as an assistant captain with 50 in 50 games.

He had a history of concussions and was to play the 2019-2020 season but didn't follow through.

Many of the players who knew him have expressed shock over the player's passing away.

The Dhaliwal/Mann family have reached out to the community for his mem orial service over social media. It is taking place Sunday, August 7, 2022.

The cause of his death is not known.
