Former Hockey Coach Of Sidney Crosby Wants Street Renamed In His Honour

The Canadian Press, 14 Jun, 2016 12:00 PM
A former coach of Sidney Crosby says a street in the hockey superstar's hometown should be renamed in his honour.

Paul Mason, who coached the Pittsburgh Penguins captain in hockey and baseball between the ages of 10 and 13, says he would like to see Forest Hills Parkway in Cole Harbour renamed after Crosby.

Crosby is from the Halifax-area community and played in arenas on the parkway for years.

Mason says Crosby is a role model and should be recognized for his generosity in the community.

He says since he made the suggestion, many residents have expressed their support, including a few local councillors.

Mason's comments come days after Crosby hoisted the second Stanley Cup of his career.
