December 12th has been proclaimed Christine Sinclair Day in B-C, celebrating her extraordinary career and achievements in Canadian women's soccer.

Lana Popham, B-C's minister of sport, says Sinclair's accomplishments and unparalleled contributions have brought the world's attention to the province.

The date represents Sinclair's jersey number 12, and her birthday is June 12th.

Sinclair was born and raised in Burnaby, made her debut for the Canadian national team at age 16, and has three Olympic medals as well as the most goals scored by any player in women's soccer history.
