The Canada Cup International Field Hockey Tournament was hosted by the West Coast Kings Field Hockey Society over 4 days at Tamanawis Park in Surrey. 
 
The Canada Cup tournament now in its 13th year drew over 40 teams from all over the globe. Players were in Canada from Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, England, Holland and Argentina. 
 
This year 800 athletes both national and international, played against each other to win the championship.
 
Political dignitaries such as the Mayor of Surrey Brenda Locke, MP's Sukh Dhaliwal, and Randeep Sarai were present for the ribbon cutting. 

The Canada Cup is the only tournament of its kind in BC and is supported by the community, Gurdwara associations, and South Asian media outlets.

“It is the best tournament in North America where people come together and watch hockey”, expresses Udham Singh Hundal, General Secretary of West Coast Kings Field Hockey Society.

Hundal believes this tournament encourages youth to participate in field hockey.

West Coast Kings Field Hockey Club is committed to elevating the sport of field hockey in North America.

The club has many field hockey athletes from the areas of Vancouver, Burnaby, Abbotsford, Richmond, Surrey, Delta, and abroad, and has won many well-known tournaments throughout the years. Along with games,  the club mandate is to support youth leagues, high school player development, training, and inclusive of scholarship initiatives.

The free-for-all event included free food and parking for its visitors. There were also raffle prizes where spectators got a chance to win exciting gifts.

Canada Cup 2024 was a resounding success and an enjoyable event with over 10,000 attendees.
