  • YVR named best airport in North America

The Vancouver International Airport has won the title of best airport in North America at an international award ceremony in Germany.

The airport says it took the prize at the Skytrax World Airport Awards held in Frankfurt.

It says it last won the title in 2021, and C-E-O Tamara Vrooman says airport staff worked hard to regain the top spot after the aviation sector was hammered by the pandemic.

A statement released by Y-V-R says it's the only airport to be awarded the title 14 times
