  • Young Punjabi athlete Dhan Bains drowns at Davis lake in Mission

Another tragic drowning story that has brought a young man's life to an end. The body of Indo Canadian man Dhanpreet Bains, 25, has been recovered who was with friends at Davis Lake in Mission.

Dhan Bains star basketball athlete and soccer player. He played on the team at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. He was going to study engineering at UBC this Fall.

Members of the community and his closest friends are holding a candlelight vigil for Bains. The vigil is being held on Sunday August 23rd at 6pm at Sullivan Heights Secondary as he is a grad of that highschool.

There have been 18 drownings so far this year.

We at Darpan want to once again remind you to please be careful and use all safety precautions when you are near the water and also inform your loved ones about your whereabouts.
