Wreckage Of The Missing BC Cargo Plane Found North Of Vancouver, Still No Sign Of Pilots

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 14 Apr, 2015 09:58 AM
VANCOUVER — The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre confirms that wreckage found in the mountains north of Vancouver is from a missing cargo plane.

Spokesman Oliver Woodbridge says the wing and fuselage of the twin-engine aircraft have been located, but its pilots have yet to be seen.

The Carson Air plane with two pilots aboard was flying from Vancouver to Prince George, B.C., but was lost shortly after 7 a.m. on Monday.

Ground crews later came across debris in the North Shore mountains near Mt. Seymour but couldn't immediately confirm it was from the missing aircraft.

The Transportation Safety Board is expected to deploy its investigators once they are able to access the site.

The plane left Vancouver International Airport at 6:43 a.m. and was due to arrive at Prince George Airport at 8 a.m.
