Women Unhurt After Being Pulled From Burning Shelter By Vancouver Police

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 05 Dec, 2015 03:02 PM
Vancouver police say officers pulled two sleeping women from a burning, make-shift shelter built out of tarps and shopping carts.
The three officers spotted plumes of smoke early Friday morning near the city's downtown.

When they arrived on scene, they saw flames rising from the shelter stacked against the side of a building.

Police say the officers lifted the tarps and saw two women sleeping, one of whom was wrapped in a burning blanket.

The officers ripped off the blanket and began tearing down the burning shelter, and once the women were safe they pulled extinguishers from their car.

Police say the women were not injured but officers will review video from the surrounding to area to try and determine the cause of the fire.
