Woman Found Dead In Newfoundland Was Murdered, Spouse Died By Suicide: RCMP

The Canadian Press, 19 Sep, 2017 12:19 PM
MARYSTOWN, N.L. — Police in eastern Newfoundland say an 18-year-old woman found dead in Marystown on the weekend was murdered, and her spouse killed himself.

RCMP do not name the woman but say she was originally from Saskatchewan.

Her 37-year-old spouse, Jeff Kilfoy, was found dead Sunday in a wooded area near their home.

Police had surrounded a house on McGettigan Boulevard on Saturday and later said they were looking for Kilfoy, who was considered armed and dangerous.

The woman's body was found that day inside the home.

Police had received a report of an incident there around noon Saturday but few details were released.

RCMP say they do not believe there is any ongoing public risk linked to the investigation.
