A suspect has been arrested in Richmond after reports of an armed man chasing a woman at a transit station.
Mounties say it happened over the weekend, when witnesses told police that a man carrying a knife got off a train and fell down an escalator.
Witnesses told police the man also dropped what appeared to be a gun, but it was later determined to be an airsoft pistol.
Police say they arrested the man after a brief foot chase.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the country's premiers will hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday to discuss the threat of steep new U.S. tariffs. The meeting will be held virtually at 5 p.m., the Prime Minister's Office said.
