EDMONTON — A woman faces a number of charges after a parked ambulance was stolen from an Edmonton hospital.
Police allege a patient at the Royal Alexandra Hospital took the emergency vehicle and drove it to a rural area.
The ambulance was tracked by police using its on-board GPS and officers were able to stop it near Duffield, about 40 kilometres west of Edmonton.
The driver was arrested without incident.
Charges against a 21-year-old suspect include dangerous driving, theft over $5,000 and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
The woman has been returned to the care of the hospital.
