VANCOUVER — A 64-year-old woman accused of setting up traps on bike trails in North Vancouver is facing criminal charges after her actions were allegedly caught on video.
RCMP say she was seen on video setting up logs, branches and rocks after two mountain bikers decided to buy, install and monitor security cameras on public pathways.
Police say that since last August, the bikers had noticed weekly, dangerous obstructions and installed the cameras in hopes of catching the person responsible.
She was arrested after being caught on camera numerous times laying logs, branches and rocks on the Quarry and Lower Skull trails.
Mounties have recommended charges of setting a trap and mischief to property, and the woman is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 4.
Police say she has been released with conditions to not go near the trails.
