Woman awakened when stranger grabs her wrist

Darpan News Desk Vancouver Police, 29 Apr, 2021 11:52 PM
  • Woman awakened when stranger grabs her wrist

A 19-year-old woman was recently awakened in her downtown apartment just after midnight, when a man she did not know grabbed her by the wrist. She screamed and ran out of her bedroom, and her roommate called police.

When officers arrived, the man was lying in the young woman’s bed. He resisted arrest and a taser was used to take him in to custody.

The suspect was arrested for break-and-enter and assault, and taken to jail. Mental health may have been a factor with the suspect.
