Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 07 Aug, 2015 10:06 AM
NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. — One person is in custody after a serious accident damaged 30 vehicles and temporarily shut down a busy Metro Vancouver bridge.

A northbound car crossing the Pattullo Bridge in New Westminster, B.C., straddled the centre line and began driving over pylon dividers just before 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

A witness driving past the vehicle in the opposite direction said he saw the driver hit a pole, which smashed her windshield before striking other vehicles.

Other vehicles were hit either by cars or flying pylons.

    There were no serious injuries.

New Westminster Police say no charges have been laid but that impaired driving is suspected. (Global)
