  • Witnesses sought in South Surrey shooting

Surrey RCMP is seeking witnesses and dash camera footage from a shooting in South Surrey.

On November 11, 2021, around 10:00 p.m., shots were heard in the area of 16700-block of 17A Avenue. Officers attended and searched the area, but were not able to locate evidence that a shooting had taken place. There were indications of fireworks being set off in the same vicinity. However, the following day a resident in the area noticed damage to their garage door along with evidence of a shooting and made a report to police.

Surrey RCMP’s General Investigation Unit has conduct of the investigation and have obtained video of a possible suspect vehicle (see attached photo).

The shooting caused minor property damage and thankfully no one was injured, says Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer Corporal Vanessa Munn. The motive of the shooting is still under investigation and we are looking for additional witnesses as well as dash camera footage to assist with advancing the investigation.

If you were in the area and witnessed anything suspicious or have dash camera footage, please contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
