Winnipeg Police Warn Justice Officials To Watch Their Mail For Next Day Or So

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 06 Jul, 2015 11:08 AM
Winnipeg police investigating the bombing of a law firm say if there are any more suspicious packages in the mail they will likely be found in the next day or so.

So far three bombs have been found and police are currently investigating reports of a suspicious package discovered at a Canada Post depot in the city.

One bomb blew up on Friday seriously injuring a lawyer, while two others were detonated by police over the weekend.

Police have charged 49-year-old Guido Amsel and believe he was targeting his ex-wife and the lawyers who were involved in a lengthy legal dispute between the couple.

Officers are warning any justice officials who have had contact with Amsel to be cautious with the mail they received on Thursday and Friday.

Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman says police likely saved lives with their work over the weekend tracking down a suspect.
