Windy Weather Cancelled Over Two Dozen Morning Sailings: BC Ferries

The Canadian Press, 09 Dec, 2014 11:15 AM
  • Windy Weather Cancelled Over Two Dozen Morning Sailings: BC Ferries
VICTORIA — BC Ferries says it has cancelled more than two dozen sailings on seven different routes because of adverse weather.

Spokeswoman Deborah Marshall says major routes will resume, but she says the company is continuing to monitor for high winds expected in the evening.

She says drive-on passengers who missed their sailings on BC Ferries' three major routes between the Vancouver area and Vancouver Island were facing a one-sailing wait.

Marshall says some customers gave up on waiting during the cancellations, which stopped the first round-trip sailings for routes along the coast.

She says, as of 10 a.m., there were still some routes holding on the Northern Gulf Islands because of wind.
