White Rock woman charged in theft

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 03 Jun, 2024 04:24 PM
  • White Rock woman charged in theft

A 36-year-old White Rock woman is facing several charges including break and enter, theft and possession of stolen goods, after an alert neighbour in Tsawwassen called police to report a robbery.

Delta police say it happened around 4:20 this morning when the neighbour saw a man and woman removing property from the home's garage and putting it in a nearby minivan.

Officers got there in time and gave chase, but the suspect escaped and then a few hours later police stopped the same vehicle and arrested the woman, while the man hasn't been found.

Police say that area in Delta has seen an increase in theft from parked cars in the last week, including many cases where garage door openers are taken to use in home robberies later.
