WATCH: Meet City of Surrey new police chief Norm Lipinski Surrey's own Police Force will be operational in Spring 2021. Norm Lipinski said he is looking forward to a diverse and gender equal executive team to join him in the force.

On the youth and gang violence issue the new police chief said, "We do know that the more time we spend with our youth, there is a lower probability that they will make bad decisions, so prevention is extremely important." He continued, "I would ensure that there is cohesion, that there is relationship building between various units."
