Wanted Woman Arrested By Transit Police In Surrey After Showing Expired Fare

Darpan News Desk, 09 Feb, 2015 11:40 AM
SURREY, B.C. — A woman who was wanted for breaching parole conditions has been arrested by Transit Police, after she showed an expired fare at a SkyTrain Station in Surrey.

Joanna Lee Larson was convicted of manslaughter in 2001 in the killing of Annette Allen in a Surrey residence.

She was released on day parole in 2009, before being arrested again several years later and released again in 2014.

A warrant for her arrest was issued for failing to return to her designated facility and being at large in the community.

Transit Police say officers conducted a fare check on Jan. 25 at the Gateway SkyTrain Station, where Larson produced an expired fare and lied about her identity.

Officers arrested the 43-year-old and she is now at the Alouette Correctional Centre for Women in Maple Ridge.
