Victoria-Area Drone Flying Election Banner Turns Commuters Into Captive Audience

The Canadian Press, 24 Sep, 2015 12:47 PM
  • Victoria-Area Drone Flying Election Banner Turns Commuters Into Captive Audience
VICTORIA — If you think the federal election is droning on, you'd be right — at least in suburban Victoria.

Drivers stuck in rush hour traffic between Victoria and its West Shore suburbs on Wednesday afternoon were treated to an unexpected display.

A remote control drone was flying an election banner above the slow-moving vehicles.

The banner was for Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke Conservative candidate Shari Lukens, although it's unclear if the drone and banner were officially connected to her campaign.

One commuter who posted a photo of the drone on Facebook says it certainly gained attention, with many drivers taking notice. (CFAX)
