Vancouver's Celebrity Photographer In Ryan Reynolds Hit And Run Charged

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 28 Apr, 2015 11:07 AM
VANCOUVER — A Vancouver-area celebrity photographer faces more serious charges over allegations he criminally harassed Ryan Reynolds over a six-week period before hitting the actor with his car.

Three charges were sworn before a justice of the peace against Richard Fedyck, a 52-year-old paparazzo arrested after the movie star was allegedly struck in the parkade of a luxury hotel.

Court documents show Fedyck faces charges of criminal harassment, dangerous operation of motor vehicle and assault with a weapon — specifically a car.

The indictment shows Fedyck is accused of causing Reynolds to reasonably fear for his safety between Feb. 28 and April 11.

Police initially recommended an intimidation charge after an April 10 incident that left Reynolds with a sore knee and back while he was in the city filming his new movie "Deadpool."

Fedyck has denied hitting Vancouver-born Reynolds, calling them 100 per cent false. He's scheduled for a first court appearance in provincial court later today.
