Vancouver Teenager Charged With Killing His 80-Year-Old Father

The Canadian Press, 12 Jun, 2015 11:49 AM
VANCOUVER — A 19-year-old man has been charged in the death of his father in Vancouver.

Police say Alexander Shevalev was arrested Wednesday and charged with manslaughter.

Eighty-year-old Vladimir Shevalev was found dead in his apartment in the Coal Harbour area on March 1.

Police say they initially believed he died of natural causes but some concerns led to an investigation.

Shevalev's son remains in custody and is expected to make his next court appearance on Friday.

Police say the death is Vancouver's seventh homicide of the year.
