Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 02 Mar, 2016 11:16 AM
VANCOUVER — Police in Vancouver say a suspicious device found in a vehicle downtown is not an explosive.

The Vancouver Police Department says officers from the Emergency Response Team and the Explosive Disposal Unit examined the item and determined it was not a danger to the public.

Police had asked the public to stay away from a downtown area that was blocked to traffic.

The department says the suspicious device was found after a traffic stop on Beatty Street near Dunsmuir Street.

Police have now re-opened the street.
