  • Vancouver Police make arrest in South Vancouver shooting

Vancouver Police have made an arrest after a shooting on Wednesday, July 22, in the Sunset neighborhood of Vancouver that left a man with serious injuries.

Vancouver Police responded to a 9-1-1 call just before 9:45 to the area of East 53rd Avenue and Sophia Street for a man who had been shot.

The victim was rushed to hospital, where he remains with non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives from the VPD Major Crime section have now arrested 21-year-old

Vancouver resident Jaspal Dhillon, who has been charged with possession of a firearm, aggravated assault, discharge firearm with intent, and using a firearm for the purpose of an indictable offense.

Mr. Dhillon remains in custody at the Vancouver jail.
