Vancouver Police Issue Warrant For High-Risk Sex Offender Wanted Canada-Wide

    Vancouver police have issued an arrest warrant for a high-risk sexual offender after he failed to return to his halfway house.
     
    Forty-four year old Stanley Lee Porter currently serving a long-term supervision order following a conviction for sexual assault.
     
    Police say the two-time federal offender did not return to his halfway house Friday night and is wanted Canada-wide.
     
    Porter is described as Aboriginal, five feet three inches tall, 180 pounds and was last seen wearing a dark blue hooded jacket and blue jeans.
     
    Police warn the man has no direct ties to Vancouver and may travel outside the Lower Mainland, and are asking anyone who sees him to call 911 
     
    immediately.
     
    Police say he has an extensive criminal history stretching back more than two decades, including convictions for sexual assault and sexual interference.
