Vancouver Police issue warning about sexual attacks at Asian women

Darpan News Desk Darpan, 06 Oct, 2014 02:48 PM

VANCOUVER - The Vancouver Police Department has issued a warning after a series of sexual attacks that appear to be aimed at Asian women who have suffered significant emotional stress.

Police say a middle-aged Asian woman was walking down the street on Friday when a man approached her from behind and groped her.

When he walked away the woman followed him and confronted her attacker but he punched her in the face and knocked her to the ground before taking off.

The woman was taken to hospital for minor injuries, but she is just the latest in three such incidents.

Police say that in June, an elderly Asian woman was walking her dog when a man came from behind and struck her violently between the legs.

In April, an elderly Asian woman was groped from behind by a man who took off, only to return and touch her inappropriately a second time before the woman screamed.
