Vancouver man has been charged for killing another man last September, following a months-long Vancouver Police investigation.
The victim, Neil Scarisbrick, was assaulted during an altercation near Columbia and East Hastings streets around 2:30 a.m. on September 7. Scarisbrick died from his injuries.
Jonathan James Payne, 36, is charged with one count of manslaughter. The incident was the 11th of 19 homicides in Vancouver last year.
The department says in a statement the drugs on the street are much more potent and the opioid crisis has worsened in the city.
